Lafayette BWA ends in Region 5 - new BWA issued for parts of Columbia Heights Water District


Drinking Water Advisories Three new boil water advisories have been issued since the weekend
  • Region 2 - Columbia - Caldwell Parish - BWA issued Sep 17 for some customers of Columbia Heights Water District, including Hwy 4 West from water plant to Hwy 850 Hwy 850 to Grayson city limits, Bank Springs Road, Pension Hill Loop, Wildwood Landfill Road, Hillside Drive, Keith Drive, Perot Road, Darden Street, Frank Street, Phillips Lane, Tucker Street, John Brown Drive and the Office of Juvenile Justice.
  • Region 8 - Carlyle - Plaquemines Parish - BWA issued Sep 16 for the entire Dalcour Water System from Braithwaite to the Phoenix split
  • Region 4 - Leesville - Vernon Parish - BWA issued Sep 15 for North Ermine Street to Hwy 171 and Hwy 171 from Nona Street to Ian's End Lane
One advisory has been rescinded in Region 5 :
Lafayette - Lafayette Parish The BWA issued Sep 14 for South College Road to the north, Willow Street to the south, East Pinhook Road to the west, and Bertrand Drive to the east has been rescinded.

HABs based on satellite images from NCCOS HABS Monitoring Program
Lake Allemands, Bayou Fortier and Wetland Watchers Park inland water body remain the high concentration HABs cases within view of the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science daily satellite image capture at 2 million cells per 100 ml. Lake Pontchartrain shows minimal algal bloom activity in open water with all shorelines appearing clear. Lake Maurepas lakewide bloom occupies all open water and the north shoreline leaving the southwest to the southeast shorelines clear. Lake Verret and Lake Palourde lakewide blooms at 800 to 900 thousand cells per 100 ml with higher concentrations along some shorelines. See HABs button to the right of the map for details.

Streamflow Situation
  • USGS streamflow gages throughout the central state remain below normal. Extreme hydrologic drought conditions presenting in the Tangipahoa River watershed.
