The following summary is from one of sixty-six Clean Water Act Prosecutions in Louisiana since 1990

$800,000 in federal fines and restitution for one charge under the CWA

A bulk liquids tank rental/storage company was charged and pled guilty to knowingly violating the Clean Water Act. The employees took samples at “unlawfully prescribed” locations, and submitted these as legitimate samples representing their outfall, or effluent release.
