FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible in portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto,
Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine, Union, Webster and Winn. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Rain and thunderstorms will increase across the area early this morning leading to an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall.
Monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop, Flood safety information is here.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Streamflow Situation from the network of monitoring stations of the US Geological Survey
Overcast and 71 degrees in New Orleans, rising to 84 with showers and possibly a thunderstorm, a quarter of an inch of new rainfall with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue tonight, mainly before 10pm, up to half an inch possible.
Extreme drought remains in north central Louisiana north Union, Claiborne and Lincoln Parishes even as a flood watch is in effect in watershed Regions 1 to 3 midweek. Watershed Region 7 remains in severe drought through the west side Parishes, St. Helena, Livingston, Tangipahoa and Washington Parish. St. Tammany Parish has gone to moderate drought, all remaining area including East Feliciana and East Baton Rouge are below normal.
