Streamflow Situation from USGS current streamflow monitors
West state remains in below normal to much below seasonal normal current streamflows Monday with mostly normal values in the southeast. Two sites are still recording flooding in the west in spite of below normal streamflows.
No extreme high or low values are registering apart from the two flood sites.

Bayou Bodcau is still flooding near Shreveport in watershed Region 1, down to three feet above flood stage and still coming down, even where an extreme drought rating has been cast on Caddo Parish.
Region 4 Sabine River remains in flood stage near Ruliff Texas Monday. Texas-Oklahoma Water Science Center manages this streamflow gauge, which has been holding a steady flow volume four inches over minor flood stage for more than a week. The entire area is rated on the drought map and the streamflow reading is considered normal for this time of year. More to follow.
Check black tags for flood details.

Hazardous Spills

Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality responds to reports made to the Emergency Spill line. A massive spill incident in November 2023 is still under investigation by the US Coast Guard, federal EPA and state DEQ authorities. A million gallons of crude oil discharged into the Gulf of Mexico from a pipeline coming off seven oil production platforms. The platforms and pipeline were shut down immediately and remain shut down as the investigators have not determined where the leak occurred. US Coast Guard personnel told WTLA.us that there is no update on the case, it remains under investigation. A recent report investigated by LDEQ involved an unknown amount of diesel fuel spilled at a boat launch in Amelia in the month of February. Spills are tagged in pink by location on the maps and listed under the spill button to the right of the map.
