Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Union Parish: Farmerville issued a BWA following a water line break yesterday. This advisory applies to customers of the Tri-Water System, Inc. on Rodeo Road.

Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS streamflow gauges in Louisiana

Sunny and clear with a high of 87 today, patchy fog tonight for New Orleans, no hazardous weather in sight, no new storm development is expected in the next 48 hours for the Atlantic. Hurricane Kristy has escalated to a powerful Category 4 at 150 mph sustained wind speed, this hurricane is moving west in the Pacific, not currently threatening the continent. Life threatening rip current is anticipated tomorrow along the coast of Baja California, more to follow as new announcements are made.

Louisiana streamflows continue to decline Thursday, the drought map remains as yesterday. Bayou Macon - Tensas River valley continues in extreme drought, all area east to the Mississippi River rated moderate drought, extending from East Carroll Parish in the northeast to adjacent Madison, Tensas and Concordia Parishes. Region 3 watershed west half is gripped by moderate drought from east Union, west Morehouse, Ouachita, Winn, Grant and LaSalle Parishes. Sabine River channel remains below normal from north to south passing through Region 4 watershed including south-central Sabine, west Vernon, Beauregard and Calcasieu Parishes. Region 5 is rated below normal through Acadia and Evangeline Parishes, extending to St Marys Parish on the coast and Tangipahoa Parish in Region 7.

As of this report, there are no high flows or active floods, a first percentile extreme low is again registering in Bayou Toro near Toro in Region 4 watershed.

The latest image of Louisiana southeast water bodies is clear, captured Oct 23 at relatively low wind speed 4.7 mph. Lake Boeuf retains the lakewide presentation of HAB at extreme high concentration, 3 million cells per ml. Lake Verret lakewide bluegreen bloom has ramped up over 24 hours, a hot spot in the south is over 1 million cells per ml, the remainder of the HAB matches the concentration color scale for 800 to 900 thousand cells. Lac des Allemands and Bayou Fortier are full of HABs, hot spots appearing in Lac des Allemands up to 1 million cells per ml in open water of the west bay. Lake Palourde lakewide HAB holds high concentration 800 to 900 thousand cells per ml, Black Bay remains full of bluegreen at 700 to 800 thousand cells per ml.
