Customers connecting along St. Martin Street between Evangeline and Old Market Street are required to boil water until two consecutive daily samples test clean. Customers connecting in the Hebert Subdivision and surrounding areas were under a BWA over the weekend. Town of Basile Water System distributes potable water to 2400 Evangeline and Acadia County residents from a groundwater well source purchased from another licensed drinking water facility. According to US EPA compliance records, the last sanitary survey was completed in June 2023. Significant deficiencies were noted in finished water storage, and non-compliance is noted in two of the last twelve quarters, specifically the treatment technique, Groundwater Rule.
