Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Caddo Parish: Shreveport Water System issued a boil advisory for customers in University Park following emergency repairs last week.
Shreveport Water System is one of the largest facilities in the USA listed as an EPA Enforcement Priority, recording serious violations of the SDWA in nine of the last twelve quarters. The violations have to do with exceeding the maximum contaminant level for disinfection by-products, all since resolved or archived as of the last verified quarter, ended Sep 30, 2024. Shreveport provides water to 201,000 residents from a surface water source, Cross Lake, in Region 1 watershed.
Caddo Parish: The Town of Vivian has issued a boil water advisory for customers on North Pine Street, Camp Vivian Road, Milner Street, and Lawton Street. According to a statement released to the press, "The Town of Vivian Water System has experienced problems with our water supply system due to a water leak on the north side of town. Because of these problems, the water produced by our water supply system is of questionable microbiological quality. Therefore, the Town of Vivian Water System is issuing a boil order effective immediately.
The boil order is to include all water customers located in the 1100 to 1800 blocks of North Pine Street, and all of Camp Vivian Road, Milner Street and Lawton Street. This order is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Vivian Water System."
