Flash Flood warning for northwest
FLASH FLOOD - RADAR INDICATED issued by NWS Shreveport 837 am Tues Feb 11
The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a flash Flood Warning for Southwestern Bossier Parish in northwestern Louisiana and Southwestern Caddo Parish in northwestern Louisiana until 1130 AM CST.
At 837 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms, radar indicated. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Shreveport, Bossier City, Haughton, Greenwood, Fosters, Eastwood, Barksdale Air Force Base, Forbing, Ferguson, Robson, Sligo, Taylortown, Bodcau, Red Chute, Cross Lake and Fillmore.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Shreveport provides water to 201,000 residents from a surface water source, Cross Lake, in Region 1 watershed.
