Alexandria BWA, Rivers flooding statewide
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Rapides Parish: City of Alexandria Water System issued a Boil Water advisory following a loss of pressure in a main water line on Friday. The boil order has impacted customers on Gay Road, between Prescott Road and Masonic Drive, and Linda Road and Custers Drive. City of Alexandria provides drinking water to 66,798 residents from a groundwater well source in the upper drainage area of watershed Region 5. The facility has a perfect compliance record with the SDWA, according to the EPA, at least as far as the end of Sep,, 2024.
Public water systems provide water for human consumption to at least 15 service connections or 25 average people per day for at least 60 days per year. Streamflow Situation from the network of monitoring stations of the US Geological Survey
Five active floods are registering across the reference network for Louisiana Sunday morning, including sites in watershed Region 1, 2, 4 and 7. In Region 1 Bossier Parish, Bayou Dorcheat continues to rise, presently recorded more than two feet above minor flood stage. Flooding in Region 1 started early Thursday morning following the heavy rainfall as forecast. Little River breached flood stage yesterday morning near Rochelle in Region 2, presently two and a half feet over flood stage and rising.
In Region 4, Calcasieu River runs more than a foot above flood stage near Glenmora, this latest stage of flooding began Thursday morning, on a fairly rapid rise as of this report. Sabine River is flooding in the lower channel Calcasieu Parish, running half a foot over the channel, the rise is slowing down, appears to be leveling out, near peak flow. Pearl River breached flood stage mid-afternoon yesterday, presently a foot over near Bogalusa and still rising in Region 7.
