Town of Pearl River floodwaters on the rise in Region 7
Streamflow Situation from the network of monitoring stations of the US Geological Survey
Flooding is becoming more extensive in Louisiana, the number of active flood events in the network has expanded overnight from five to six.
Bayou Dorcheat rose another half a foot over the last 24 hours, currently more than two and a half feet above the channel near Springhill in Region 1. Little River is still slowly rising near Rochelle in Region 2, more than three feet above minor flood stage.
In the west, Region 4 watershed Calcasieu River continues an upward trajectory, climbing to more than two feet above the channel bounds near Glenmora. Sabine River has leveled out in the lower channel through Calcasieu Parish, holding a steady flow nine inches above flood stage. Over to the east state line, boundary river Pearl continues to flood the upper channel near Bogalusa, now also running over minor flood stage at the Town of Pearl River in St Tammany Parish. Flooding at Town of Pearl River started around 215 this morning, the water level is rising quite rapidly. Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Rapides Parish: City of Alexandria Water System issued a Boil Water advisory for water customers that experienced a loss of pressure in a main water line on Friday. City of Alexandria provides drinking water to 66,798 residents from a groundwater well source in the upper drainage area of watershed Region 5. The facility has a perfect compliance record with the SDWA, according to the EPA, at least as far as the end of Sep, 2024.
Public water systems provide water for human consumption to at least 15 service connections or 25 average people per day for at least 60 days per year. This page displays the basic information for the selected public water system, including information about its sources of water, population served, annual operating period, service connections, etc.
