An area of severe hydrologic drought conditions remain along the east border of watershed Region 1.
Moderate hydrological drought is showing up on the west side of watershed Region 7 and persists in a large area of watersheds 4 and 5.
Below normal flow is recorded broadly through the rest of the state with the northwest Region 1 watershed and watershed Region 8 in the southeast south of Lake Pontchartrain to the Gulf being the only areas not showing up on the drought map.

Three USGS streamflow monitors are rated low today, including Bayou Macon and Tensas River in Region 3 and Tangipahoa River in watershed Region 7.

HABs Report
The satellite image of southeast LA taken October 24 at wind speed of 2.9 mph is mostly clear giving a good view of the inland water bodies we have been tracking. The widespread bloom observed in the northwest quarter Lake Pontchartrain as recently as Oct 21 is no longer visible.

Our interpretation of the satellite image from the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) Harmful Algal Blooms Monitoring Program is available under the HABs button to the right of the map, including Lake Maurepas, Lake Palourde, Lac des Allenmands, Bayou Fortier, Wetland Watchers Park and more.
Bluegreen location tags on our map give the interpretation of the last clear image available.
