Streamflow Situation from USGS real-time streamflow monitoring stations around the eight watersheds of the state
Tangipahoa River started flooding early this morning near Robert, running a foot and a half over minor flood stage in Region 7 as of this update. Nearby in Region 7, Tchefuncte River breached minor flood stage at 11 pm last night at Covington, breached minor flood stage at Folsom at 4 am this morning and is currently flowing above moderate flood stage and still rising near Folsom.
Bogue Falaya River is flooding near Covington in Region 7. More to follow.

Bayou Dorcheat continues to flood near Springhill in Region 1 and Paw Paw Bayou runs above 99th percentile at Greenwood.

Bayou des Cannes began flooding around 130 am near Eunice in Region 4. Bayou San Patricio is still flowing above the 99th percentile near Benson.

Check black tags for flood, blue tags for 99th percentile flows with levels updated through the day.

Note WaterToday reports day-to-day changes recorded by USGS streamflow monitors on rivers and tributaries located in Louisiana, along with monitors upstream in the Mississippi River basin: Ohio, Georgia and southwest New York state. USGS creates a drought map from 7-day average streamflow readings, by comparing the average with the historic weekly normal flow value for each location. The drought ratings are below normal, moderate hydrologic drought, severe drought and extreme drought.
