Village of Norwood water system supplies a population of 279 residents from a groundwater source, with 185 service connections.

Flood Tracker provisional data from USGS streamflow monitors
Ninety-three streamflow gauges record flooding in the USA Tuesday, down from one hundred and five Monday. WT tracks the nation's most common natural disaster dynamics through New York, Ohio, Georgia and Louisiana. As of this report we are watching 32 monitors indicating active flooding: 15 in Georgia, 14 in Louisiana, 3 in Ohio.

As of this report, New York has no active flooding, one monitor is recording 99th percentile flow on Long Island.

Georgia is on Day 41 of continuous flooding. The same fifteen sites are recording provisional flow data above flood stage overnight as last reported here Monday. Ochlockonee River is still flooding near Concord, two feet out of the channel. Withlacoochee River continues flooding near Bemiss, Quitman and downstream near Pinetta, FL. Suwannee River tributary Alapaha River is still running 99th percentile near Alapaha and flooding at downstream Statenville and Jennings, FL. Suwannee River is flooding at US 441 near Fargo. In the Atlantic basin, Altamaha River is overflowing its banks near Baxley. Altamaha tributary Ohoopee River continues to flood near Reidsville. Five stations in the Satilla watershed are still flooding including two locations of Satilla River near Waycross and Atkinson, Alabaha River is flooding near Blackshear, Little Satilla is flooding near Offerman. Savannah River is still flooding near Cylo.

In Ohio, down to three monitors signalling flood flows Tuesday. Ohio River is no longer flooding at Ashland, KY as of around 10 pm last night. Ohio River is still running over flood stage at Point Pleasant, WV and downstream Portsmouth, note Portsmouth and Cincinnati drinking water is drawn from Ohio River. Muskingum River basin tributary Killbuck Creek is still three inches outside the channel at central Ohio, Killbuck. In the Lake Erie drainage basin, Tiffin River got back in line around 930 pm last night.through the village of Stryker. In the east, Cuyahoga River is still flowing high at Hiram Rapids and Old Portage, Mahoning River is 99th percentile at Pricetown.

Fourteen stations record flooding in Louisiana Tuesday, with one less monitored flood site than reported Monday. Region 1 Bayou Dorcheat continues to flood near Springhill and downstream at Minden. Bayou Bodcau floods near Shreveport and Caddo Lake is still flooding near Mooringsport. In watershed Region 2, Little River continues to flow more than four feet over near Rochelle. In Region 4, Sabine River is recorded as flooding near Logansport, Bon Wier and Ruliff, no longer flooding at Burkeville. Ouiska Chitto Creek is back inside its channel near Oberlin while Calcasieu River continues to run over its banks as monitored near Glenmora, downstream near Oberlin and Kinder. In Region 7, Pearl River continues to flood near Bogalusa and downstream at Town of Pearl River.

See black tags on the map for active flood, blue for high flow, 99th percentile or more.

As many drinking water facilities are supplied from surface water reservoirs, the streamflow situation is pertinent to both drinking water supply and quality. High flows can stir up sediment and cause turbidity in the reservoirs, requiring additional treatments to render the water potable. Low flow volume is linked to warmer temperatures in the reservoir and can be an issue for water quality where HABs are present. WT tracks streamflow trends with an eye to the impacts on drinking water supply and quality in each of the state's watersheds. Check the watershed layer on the map to see the direction of flow and streamflows that may be impacting drinking water today.

USGS Provisional Data Statement
Data are provisional and subject to revision until they have been thoroughly reviewed and received final approval. Current condition data relayed by satellite or other telemetry are automatically screened to not display improbable values until they can be verified.
Provisional data may be inaccurate due to instrument malfunctions or physical changes at the measurement site. Subsequent review based on field inspections and measurements may result in significant revisions to the data.
Data users are cautioned to consider carefully the provisional nature of the information before using it for decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business that involves substantial monetary or operational consequences. Information concerning the accuracy and appropriate uses of these data or concerning other hydrologic data may be obtained from the USGS.
