Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS streamflow gauges in Louisiana
Extreme drought in Region 3 has backed off with the rain over the weekend, the Tensas River channel through the west side of East Carroll, Madison and Tensas Parishes now rated at severe drought. Rated streamflow monitors are recording mostly above seasonal normal values through west Louisiana, including watershed Regions 1 to 5. East Louisiana flows run normal to above normal with a much below rating persisting in Region 7 Tangipahoa River at Robert. As of this report, no active flooding is observed in the network, no extreme high or low flows.

The latest satellite image of Lake Pontchartrain and the southeast water bodies is dated Sep 8, snapped in high wind conditions over 18 mph. Lac des Allemands and Bayou Fortier lakewide HABs run 1 to 2 million cells per ml, the north half of Lake Verret shows a lakewide HAB 700 thousand cells per 1 ml.
