Flooding ongoing in Regions 4, 5 and 7
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in the rivers and bayous of Louisiana
Showers and thunderstorms today, high 82 for New Orleans. Streamflows through the central state remain much above seasonal normal with flooding ongoing on Calcasieu, Vermilion and Amite Rivers midweek, more rain in the forecast.
Region 4 watershed's Calcasieu River is still flooding at all three monitoring stations from the upper basin to the lower channel at Kinder. See black tags on the map to the right for details.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Central and Western Caribbean Sea (AL99):
A broad area of low pressure over the central Caribbean Sea
continues to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms.
Environmental conditions are conducive for development, and a
tropical depression is likely to form within the next couple of days
while the system moves slowly westward into the western Caribbean
Sea. Afterward, further development is likely while the disturbance
meanders over the western Caribbean Sea through the weekend. The
system is expected to turn slowly northwestward by early next week.
Interests across the western and northwestern Caribbean Sea should
monitor the progress of this system. Regardless of development,
heavy rains are expected over Jamaica during the next day or so. For
more information on this system, including gale warnings, see High
Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service. An Air Force
Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate this system
later today.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Catahoula Parish: Black River Water System issued a BWA Saturday after a water main break and repair. Customers on Highway 564, Willow Lake Road, and Davis Road are impacted. Black River Water System serves 2256 customers from a groundwater source in Watershed Region 2.
St Tammany Parish: City of Mandeville issued a boil water advisory last week after City workers hit a water line causing a large water leak. Three commercial buildings near the site were impacted by the incident and BWA, no residences are included in the order. Mandeville Water Supply serves a population of 13 thousand from a groundwater well source in Region 7 watershed.
