Tropical Storm Sara strikes Belize
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in the rivers and bayous of Louisiana
Sunny, high 73 forecast for New Orleans Friday as floodwaters recede in Regions 4, 5 and 7. Streamflows through the central state remain much above seasonal normal, sparking a new high flow for Bayou Courtableu at Washington in watershed Region 5. Flooding has ended near Oberlin, the Calcasieu River was back in the channel after the lunch hour yesterday. Calcasieu is still spilling out in the upper channel near Glenmora, still a foot over as of this report. Downstream near Kinder, floodwater is receding, five inches over the minor flood stage. Vermilion River flooding ended yesterday before noon at Lafayette, Amite River in watershed Region 7 was back in the channel at the morning reporting yesterday.
