WT HAB Tracker from the HAB early detection satellite monitoring program run by National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS)
The latest image upload from NCCOS was captured Nov 30 at blistering high wind speed 20 mph. At this wind speed, any HABs in the southeast water bodies are likely submerged out of sight, undetectable by the satellite imaging equipment. In an earlier capture at wind speed of 1 mph, we saw widespread HAB in the south half of Lake Palourde at 600 thousand cells per ml and Black Bay widespread HAB was also visible, concentration 400 thousand cells per ml, as of Nov 27.
