Tchefuncte River in action stage near Folsom
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS river monitors in Louisiana
Much above normal to high streamflows recorded this hour in central Louisiana with one new site hovering near flood stage. Tchefuncte River is within an inch of flood stage and rising near Folsom in watershed Region 7, likely spilling over as of this report. The provisional data latency is at least 15 minute delay from the sensor on site in the river to our monitors. Calcasieu River continues to flood more than two feet over minor flood stage near Glenmora in watershed Region 4, see the black tag on the map to the right for updated water level.
Sunny and clear today in New Orleans, the same in the northwest NWS Shreveport also reporting clear sunny skies with no rain in the forecast.
Louisiana drought map has taken another down-shift overnight, the severe drought in watershed Region 3 east of the Macon-Tensas River channel today rated below normal. Tensas River channel had been rated extreme drought for weeks on end, down to moderate drought. Moderate drought remains along the Ouachita River channel running through central Union Parish through central Ouachita and central Caldwell Parishes in Region 3 watershed. Region 1 watershed Webster Parish remains below normal. Regions 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 watersheds are unrated for drought.
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
St Martin Parish: Breaux Bridge - Cecilia Water Corporation issued a boil advisory last week for residents connecting from the intersection of Highway 678 near 2747 Grand Point Highway to I-10. Cecilia Water Corporation provides potable water to 12,249 customers in St. Martin Parish from a groundwater source in watershed Region 5.
Orleans Parish: New Orleans had some customers in the East water distribution system were under BWA last week following a water main break on Wednesday. Customers connecting on Morrison Road from Poitevent Ave. to Paris Road, Paris Road from Morrison Rd. to Hayne Boulevard, Hayne Boulevard from Paris Road to 9600 Hayne Blvd. and Poitevent Avenue from Irby Street to Morrison Road were impacted by this order.
