Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS river monitors in Louisiana
Tchefuncte River breached flood stage at Covington around 930 this morning, on the rise as we write this report. To the west in Region 7, Tangipahoa River began flooding at Robert yesterday afternoon, peaked at half a foot over minor flood stage before midnight last night, currently declining, just an inch over as of 730 am this morning. Calcasieu River continues to flood near Glenmora in Region 4. Flood alerts have gone out to WTLA.us subscribers, the service is free, sign up at the "Call Us" link on the top left. More to follow.
Sunny and clear today in New Orleans, high 55, Shreveport reporting similar sunny conditions, high 64 in the northwest.
Louisiana drought map continues to down-shift, Bayou Macon-Tensas River channel is down from moderate drought to a below normal rating. Moderate drought remains along the Ouachita River channel running through central Union Parish through central Ouachita and central Caldwell Parishes in Region 3 watershed. Region 1 watershed Webster Parish remains below normal. Regions 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 watersheds are unrated for drought.
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Terrebonne Parish: A boil water advisory has been issued for five addresses on Sucrose Drive in Schriever, the connections impacted are located between 278 – 288 Sucrose Drive. More to follow.
