Flooding near Springhill and Glenmora

Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in Louisiana
Streamflows have picked up statewide over the weekend, above normal to much above seasonal normal across the board with two active flood events in the reference network. Bayou Dorcheat breached flood stage around 830 pm last night, currently nine to ten inches above the channel, still on the rise in Region 1 watershed. Region 4 Calcasieu River is flooding near Glenmora, this began Saturday morning, currently a foot and a half over and still rising.

Drought ratings have lifted off most of the west, just Region 1's East Carroll, Madison and Tensas Parishes, Evangeline and Acadia Parishes in Region 5 still rated below normal. Severe drought continues in Region 7 Washington Parish, with the Pearl River channel along east Washington and St. Tammany Parishes at moderate drought. West Region 7 and central Region 7 remain below normal, refer to the front page map with the watershed layer on to reference this drought information.

New Orleans is fair, 71 degrees with patchy dense fog rolling in overnight from 1 am to 4 am. Overcast, 58 degrees in the northwest, high expected for today 65 degrees with partly sunny skies. Shreveport local forecast center is reporting patchy fog coming on after midnight.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Evangeline Parish: The Town of Basile Water System has some customers on a BWA following the discovery of a water line leak Thursday. The BWA applies to connections on Paul Bellon Road and Miguel Road until further notice. Town of Basile Water System supplies 2400 customers from a groundwater well source, purchased from another licensed facility in Region 5 watershed.
