Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in Louisiana

Streamflows remain much above seasonal statewide Monday, the rain over the weekend has filled the channels to brimming with two floods in the reference network, active since Saturday.

Bayou Dorcheat continues to overrun its banks near Springhill, a foot over and possibly levelling off in Region 1 watershed. To the south in Region 4, Calcasieu River continues to spill out near Glenmora, the flooding ongoing since Saturday morning, presently near two feet over, looks to have reached peak flow and levelled out. A 99th percentile high flow is recorded on Paw Paw Bayou near Greenwood, up in the northwest Caddo Parish in Region 1.

Drought has been removed from all of Louisiana save one area in the east part of Region 7 watershed. The east state line Pearl River channel remains in moderate drought with area adjacent in Washington and St. Tammany Parishes still rated below normal.

New Orleans has fog and mist, 62 degrees heading for a high 73 degrees in the sun. Fair, 57 in Shreveport, the high getting up to 74, some of those clouds will burn off in the afternoon with the wind gusting to 30 mph.
