Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in Louisiana

West Louisiana streamflows remain above seasonal normal, shifting to normal in the east. Active flooding continues in watershed Region 4, going on to the eleventh day.

Calcasieu River began flooding December 28 near Glenmora, this flow peaked on Dec 30, very slowly receding since. Now less than a foot above the channel, this flooding could continue for another week. Sabine River flooding near Ruliff TX started on the 31st of December, the flow here levelled out in flood stage six to seven inches over the channel with no sign of dropping. Region 1, Bayou Dorcheat flooding ended around 1030 pm last night, steadily receding further inside the channel near Springhill. See black tags on the front page map for details.

It is partly cloudy, 40 degrees in New Orleans, the daytime high 48, tonight's low the subject of the Cold Weather Advisory. Make sure the water lines are covered overnight to prevent damage. Fair and 32 at Shreveport, high for Tuesday 43 in the sunshine. A winter storm warning has been issued for Thursday Jan 9. More to follow.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Livingston Parish: Ward 2 Water District issued a BWA last week Tuesday following repairs to a water main at the intersection of Juban Road and Brown Road. Customers under the boil order are located southeast of Denham Springs, all addresses on Juban Road from Brown Road to Spillers Ranch Road; all connections on Brown Road from Juban Road to Spillers Ranch Road. Water customers on Spillers Ranch Road and Ashland Bend Drive are not affected by this boil order.

Ward 2 Water District has a very clean operational record with the EPA. Enforcement and Compliance History Online shows no violations, no non-compliance matters in the last three years. The facility provides potable water to 73,506 Livingston Parish residents from a groundwater well source in watershed Region 7.
