Streamflow gauges reporting much above seasonal normal, flood watch ends

Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS streamflow gauges in Louisiana
Normal to much above seasonal flows statewide Sunday, five stations record below normal to much below normal including Region 7 Tangipahoa River at Robert and Region 3 Chemin-a-haut Bayou near Beekman. As of this report, no active flooding is observed in the network, no extreme high or low flows. Extreme drought rating is applied to the Tensas River channel area through Region 3 watershed in northeast Louisiana, catching the west edge of East Carroll and Madison Parishes. Tangipahoa Parish remains in a state of severe drought, based on the 7-day average streamflow levels recorded.

Hazardous Weather Outlook issued 334 am Sunday Sept 8 by NWS Shreveport
Rain will increase across the Four State Region beginning as early as Tuesday and especially Wednesday into Thursday of next week. There could be a developing flood threat by mid to late week across mainly portions of Deep East Texas into Northern and Northeastern Louisiana as a tropical system could develop across the northwest Gulf of Mexico and move northward into Louisiana. At this time, flooding appears to be the main threat if this system develops but the forecast will continue to be monitored through the next 7 days.
